Republican Congressman Chip Roy has introduced a bill seeking to end use of H-1B visas as pathway to permanent residency (Green Card). "H-1B visa has been abused, allowing employers to routinely sideline American STEM workers in favor of cheap foreign labor," Roy said. The bill also seeks to scrap OPT programme, which lets international students work in US after graduation.
