The Union Cabinet on Friday cleared a Bill to form a single education regulator to oversee all non-medical and non-law higher education. The Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhikshan Bill will likely be introduced in the Parliament next week. The legislation fulfils a core National Education Policy (NEP 2020) vision- streamlining a sector run by multiple regulators with overlapping functions.
