The Bihar Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed the Bill seeking to raise caste-based reservation in the state to 65% from 50%. The cabinet on Tuesday passed the proposal, which recommended a hike in reservation for Scheduled Castes (SCs) to 20%, 2% for Scheduled Tribes (STs) and a combined 43% reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs).
