Bio-vacuum toilets to be installed in trains

Indian Railways is planning to install bio-vacuum toilets in trains. These environment-friendly toilets reportedly consume less water and prevent corrosion of rail tracks. As a trial, they have been installed in one of the AC-I coaches of Dibrugarh Rajdhani for about ₹3 lakh. If successful, around 80 such toilets will be installed in Shatabdi Express.
