Bird flu confirmed at Chennai zoo, entry suspended

A zoo in Chennai's Vandalur will remain shut to visitors on Thursday and Friday after H5N1 bird flu was confirmed in aquatic birds. Officials launched disinfection and tightened biosecurity to contain the virus. A Bhopal lab confirmed the infection. Officials have not yet revealed how many birds tested positive, whether any died, or how the outbreak was detected.
