Birmingham council seeks ban on British flags for 'public safety'

Birmingham City Council has sought High Court injunction to stop people from putting British flags on public infrastructure, including lampposts. The move targets "Raise the Colours" campaign of an anti-migrant group, which has been putting up Union Jack and St George’s Cross flags. The council said move is about public safety, clarifying that it's not seeking to ban British flags.
