Birthmarks on body: What parents should know
short by / on Tuesday, 1 April, 2025
Birthmarks are coloured skin spots present at birth or shortly after, classified as vascular (blood vessel-related) or pigmented (pigment cell clusters). Most are harmless but may change over time. Care includes gentle washing, moisturising, sun protection, and avoiding irritation. Seek medical advice if a birthmark changes in size, colour, or texture.
