Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has published a number of standards for medical assistive technologies as a part of the NLEAP (National List of Essential Assistive Products) initiative brought about by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It will cover products like crutches, walking sticks, ramps, and accessible design features. These standards aim to support people with disabilities.
