World's largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin plunged more than 20% on Saturday and fell to as low as $42,296, before paring some of the losses. Meanwhile, the second-largest cryptocurrency Ether also fell as much as 17.4%. The overall cryptocurrency sector shed around a fifth of its market capitalisation, taking its total value to $2.2 trillion, according to CoinGecko.
