BJMC, Sassoon to begin tNGS for drug-resistant TB

BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, Pune, will conduct targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS) for the first time to detect drug-resistance mutations in TB patients. Starting next month, 48 samples will be tested. Findings will be shared with central and Maharashtra governments to improve treatment outcomes for drug-resistant TB patients.
