BJP-backed candidate wins RS poll after cross-voting in J'khand

BJP-backed independent candidate Parimal Nathwani has won the Rajya Sabha election after cross-voting in Jharkhand. Nathwani got 28 votes despite BJP-led NDA's tally in Jharkhand being only 24. Three votes were declared invalid, of which two were cast by BJP MLAs and one by a Congress legislator. JMM candidate Baidyanath Ram won the other Rajya Sabha seat in Jharkhand.
