BJP Kerala state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Tuesday has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, backing the proposal to officially change the state's name from 'Kerala' to 'Keralam'. He said the BJP would fully support steps taken by the state government to preserve and protect the name 'Keralam', which is closely associated with the Malayalam language heritage of the State.
