BJP leader Amit Malviya on Tuesday defended the ₹0.91/litre hike in petrol and diesel prices, the second fuel price increase in a week amid the West Asia conflict. "Even after the recent revision of ₹0.91/litre, fuel prices...have risen by only about 4%," he said. "It's among the lowest increases anywhere in the world outside heavily subsidised Gulf economies," he added.
