BJP MLA-run school bans onion, potato during Jain festival in Maha, sparks protests

Seven Square Academy in Thane's Mira Road, run by BJP MLA Narendra Mehta, faced backlash after asking parents not to pack underground root vegetables like onions, garlic and potatoes and non-veg items in children's lunchboxes during eight-day Jain festival of Paryushan. However, it withdrew the circular after Opposition parties MNS and Shiv Sena(UBT) protested. Mehta said it was a request.
