Senior BJP leader and former Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij won from Ambala Cantt Assembly seat by a margin of 7,277 votes. Vij, who got over 59,000 votes, defeated his nearest rival and Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara who got 52,581 votes. Vij had earlier said that if the party makes him CM he will change the picture of Haryana.
