Hours after BJP's landslide win in the West Bengal elections, BJP workers renamed a local road in North 24 Parganas' Barasat town. A video showed BJP workers climbing onto the top of a gate named Masjid Bari Road and changing its name to Netaji Pally Road. A local BJP leader said that the name change was a long-standing demand.
