PM Narendra Modi’s presence at the wedding of actor-politician Suresh Gopi’s daughter Bhagya underscored the BJP’s view that he is its face in Kerala. The BJP has a different electoral plan for Kerala by promoting Brand Modi — instead of staple Hindutva— to get a foothold in the bipolar political state which so far has kept the BJP at bay.
