Black rain & snow fell in Himalayas after bombing of 700 oil wells in Kuwait in 1991
short by Arshiya Chopra / on Friday, 20 March, 2026
During the 1991 Gulf War, Saddam Hussein's defeated Iraqi forces had exploded more than 700 oil wells across Kuwait while retreating. Following the disaster, black/acid rain and black snow fell over the Himalayas, thousands of kilometres away.
