The Taliban has appointed Mohammad Abdul Kabir as the interim Prime Minister of Afghanistan following the illness of the current leader Mohammad Hassan Akhund. Blacklisted by the United Nations, Kabir is known to have been an active member of terrorist operations in eastern Afghanistan. He has also been accused of attack on Afghan parliamentarians in 2007 that killed 72 people.
