The Indian Red Cross Society in Ahmedabad reported a surge in the number of blood donors from the city following the Air India plane crash incident. Nearly 650 units of blood were collected within 10 hours of the tragedy to support the victims, officials said. Around 150 people had to be deferred due to inadequate haemoglobin in their bodies.
