The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) forcibly evicted occupants from seven buildings located in Juhu-Vile Parle ward, which were declared unfit for habitation. The civic body had to take this step as the occupants refused to vacate the buildings even after their water and electricity supply were disconnected. Last month, a building in Kurla collapsed, leading to death of 19 residents.
