In a crackdown on substandard road construction in H (West) ward, BMC has suspended a subordinate engineer and fined the contractor ₹50 lakh. A ₹25 lakh penalty was also imposed on the quality auditing agency. The action followed a surprise inspection revealing severe defects in the DLC base layer.
