BMC to impose ₹25,000 fine on vehicles carrying construction waste amid worsening AQI
The BMC will impose a penalty of ₹25,000 from Monday on vehicles transporting construction waste without an active tracking system and on construction sites not registered on its debris-tracking portal. The move aims to curb illegal dumping amid deteriorating air quality. Mumbai generates over 8,000 tonnes of construction waste daily, while the civic body can process only around 1,200 tonnes.
