Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been given a target to reach out to over 40,000 hawkers for the Prime Minister Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) loan scheme. Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Karad said, "Till now...BMC has received 60,000 applications...for this scheme." The scheme aims to help street vendors who have lost their business during the pandemic.
