BMRCL has no records of 21,604 saplings, CAG audit finds

A CAG audit has raised concerns over BMRCL's failure to maintain records of 21,604 compensatory saplings linked to Namma Metro Phase 1 in Bengaluru. The corporation was required to plant saplings to compensate for 2,106 trees removed during construction. The audit also flagged concerns over Phase 2 planting measures, including a reported ₹40-lakh contract covering 1,400 saplings.
