BMTC plans to introduce QR code-based advertisements on the back of bus seats to boost non-ticket revenue. Passengers will be able to scan the codes to view advertisements on their smartphones. The transport corporation is also exploring advertisements on bus tickets and audio commercials to increase its commercial revenue beyond passenger fares.
