BMTC tests APC system in 30 buses to count passengers

BMTC is testing an Automated Passenger Counting (APC) system in 30 Bengaluru buses as part of a pilot project. Cameras near entry doors and on bus ceilings are designed to count passengers automatically. The data could help officials compare passenger numbers with ticketing records, identify crowded routes, track peak travel hours and improve bus service planning.
