The BMW Group will invest $1.7 billion to produce EVs in the US. The investment of $1 billion will be used to prepare for producing EVs at the company's existing manufacturing facility in South Carolina and $700 million will be used to build a battery assembly facility. The German automaker partnered with Envision AESC, which will produce lithium-ion battery cells.
