BoB posts highest ever loss by an Indian bank

State-owned lender Bank of Baroda (BoB) on Saturday reported a net loss of ₹3,342 crore for the quarter ended December, the highest ever quarterly loss posted by an Indian bank. The bank's profit for the year-ago period stood at ₹334 crore. The loss was attributed to a nearly five-fold increase in the bank's provisions for bad loans to ₹6,164 crore.
