Bones at UK Stone Age site found turning into jelly

Bones at Star Carr, a UK archaeological site dating back to the Middle Stone Age have been found decaying into jelly. The decay is being caused by the corrosive effect of sulphuric acid generated by draining of the land for agricultural purposes since the mid-20th century. Until then, the archaeological records had been naturally preserved by Star Carr's low-oxygen wetland.
