Idol, Burning by Rin Usami tells the story of high-schooler Akari. Akari worships her oshi (idol), Japanese pop star Masaki Ueno, but when rumours of them hitting a woman fan start spreading, Akari’s relationship with her idol — and her sense of identity — becomes complicated. It is a poignant, coming-of-age story.
