Brain-gut signals may predict antidepressant response early
Researchers at IIT Kanpur and GSVM Medical College found that brain and gut electrical signals, combined with clinical symptoms, may predict antidepressant response within 7-10 days. The study of 206 participants showed the model could identify likely nonresponders early, potentially reducing the usual 4-6-week wait and supporting more personalised depression treatment.
