Brain network at birth linked to later social behaviour: Study

Yale researchers have found that a brain network involved in processing faces, speech and gaze is active shortly after birth. The study showed that babies with stronger connectivity in this network paid more attention to faces and showed fewer social difficulties later in life. It may help understand brain processes behind social attention and social vulnerabilities linked to autism.
