Brainless jellyfish learn from past experience: Study

Box jellyfish, which have one of the world's deadliest venoms, can learn from past experience despite lacking a central brain, researchers stated. They trained Caribbean box jellyfish to learn to spot and dodge obstacles and found that even with only a thousand nerve cells and no brain, these jellyfish can acquire this skill, learning from both visual and mechanical cues.
