A team of researchers from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Israel has observed the branched flow of light for the first time. Researchers shone a laser beam along the curved film of a soap bubble. They observed that the light split into filaments as it travelled, with variations in the bubble's thickness creating the branched flow phenomenon.
