Brazil's labour ministry has put China's BYD on a registry of employers who have subjected workers to slave-like conditions. This comes after authorities rescued 163 Chinese employees working under abusive conditions at a BYD construction site in northeastern Brazil in 2024. Addition to the list bars BYD from getting certain kinds of loans in the country.
