Brazil sank a decommissioned aircraft carrier in the Atlantic Ocean on Friday, the navy informed. The hull of the Sao Paulo was sunk at a location where the sea is 5,000 metres deep to mitigate the impact on the marine ecosystem, officials said. It was to be scrapped in Turkey but was refused entry by the country over environmental concerns.
