Breakthrough in solar thermal energy efficiency
short by / on Wednesday, 21 May, 2025
A recent innovation by IIT Bombay introduced nanostructured hard-carbon florets (NCFs), achieving 87% solar-thermal conversion efficiency. This material absorbs over 97% of sunlight components. Its unique structure enables effective heat retention and conversion, making it a promising alternative to conventional solar thermal materials, which often have harmful environmental impacts.
