Innovative research in monkeys has suggested that a human stem cell therapy may one day be a treatment for torn retinal tissue, helping improve vision. Tears in the macula cause distorted vision but current treatments do not help improve vision. According to Japanese researchers, stem cell therapy helps treat small gaps that form in the macula of the eye.
