Brent crude prices cross $106 amid US-Iran diplomatic impasse

The price of Brent crude crossed the $106-per-barrel mark on Friday. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate was trading close to $97 per barrel. This comes as stalled negotiations between the US and Iran continue to heighten global market tensions, pushing crude oil prices sharply higher. The breakdown in talks has also intensified concerns over the Strait of Hormuz.
