A digital marketer identified as Uma Ram organised a nearly zero-waste wedding in Chennai. She composted one tonne of waste, recycled plastic, and fed leftover food to cattle. She wore her grandmother's saree at her wedding and used biodegradable invites, as the initiative aimed to minimise the environmental footprint of traditional celebrations. Guests were also educated on sustainable practices.
