Britain on Wednesday said it had auctioned airwaves for a total of 1.36 billion pounds ($1.89 billion). Four major networks, EE, Telefonica, Hutchison and Vodafone had participated in the auction and all of them won new spectrum. EE emerged as the biggest buyer with 452 million pounds of bids, followed by Telefonica which paid 448 million pounds.
