BSE shares fall 3% as CAS hits trading volumes

BSE shares fell over 3% after the exchange acknowledged that its new Closing Auction Session (CAS) had contributed to lower trading activity. BSE's equity derivatives turnover fell to ₹32.2 lakh crore in August, while average daily turnover declined 26% MoM to ₹18,700 crore. Analysts said expiry-day volatility is prompting traders to close positions earlier.
