In the Union Budget today, the fiscal deficit target for the next fiscal has been set at 3.5% of GDP. Further, the total expenditure in the budget is ₹19.78 lakh crore, with ₹5.5 lakh crore under planned expenditure, representing a 15.3% growth from last year. Also, the revenue deficit target was improved to 2.5% of GDP from 2.8%.
