French car manufacturer Bugatti's Founder Ettore Bugatti in a reply to a customer once said that the company's cars were made for driving and not for braking. The customer had personally complained Bugatti that the brakes in his race car were of poor quality. Ettore Bugatti passed away 69 years ago on August 21, 1947.
