Building a giant dam across the Bering Strait between Alaska and Siberia could slow the effects of climate change, according to a study. Rising sea temperatures are threatening the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, a system of ocean currents that helps regulate global weather. Researchers said the dam could stabilise AMOC and serve as a "possible measure in a worst-case scenario".
