Burundi eliminates trachoma, gets WHO validation

WHO has validated Burundi for eliminating trachoma as a public health problem, the first neglected tropical disease to be eliminated in the country. It becomes the eighth African nation and 24th globally to achieve this. The success follows nearly two decades of public health efforts and support from global partners, including the WHO and CBM.
