China SAMR ordered BYD to recall nearly 89,000 Qin Plus DM-i plug-in hybrids made from 2021 to 2023 after finding inconsistencies in battery-pack manufacturing that can limit power output. The regulator said the issue could even disable pure-EV mode. BYD will replace affected batteries free of charge after diagnostics.
