A special CBI court on Thursday convicted Rasheed Masood, a Rajya Sabha MP of Congress, for fraudulently nominating undeserving candidates to MBBS seats (alloted to Tripura) from 1990-91, as the Minister of State for Health. Masood, along with other top bureaucrats, was also found guilty of criminal conspiracy and corruption in three similar cases registered by the CBI in 1996.
