The DMK has filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court calling the Citizenship (Amendment) Act arbitrary. The party said that the law covers refugees from only three countries, namely Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, and excludes Muslims. It further said that the law also excludes Tamils of Indian origin who fled from Sri Lanka due to persecution.
